Manchester Airport Terminal Guide: T2 or T3, and Drop-Off From Redditch

This Manchester Airport terminal guide explains what has changed, which terminal you are likely to fly from, and how drop-off and pick-up work when you travel with us from Redditch.

Airport Taxi · Updated October 2026

Terminal 1 has closed

Manchester Airport is now a two-terminal airport. Terminal 1 closed in early 2026, and its airlines moved into the newly rebuilt Terminal 2. As a result, Terminal 2 now handles around three quarters of all passengers. Ryanair, on the other hand, flies from Terminal 3.

So if your booking or an old email still says Terminal 1, check with your airline before you travel. Then simply tell us your flight number when you book, and we'll drop you at the right forecourt.

Which terminal am I flying from?

  • Terminal 2: most airlines, including the long-haul carriers and the airlines that used to fly from Terminal 1.
  • Terminal 3: Ryanair.

Airlines do occasionally move, however, so your booking confirmation or the airline's app is always the final word.

Drop-off at Manchester Airport

Terminal 2 has two drop-off forecourts. The upper forecourt sits next to the main check-in hall, while the lower forecourt is on the arrivals level, with lifts close by. Terminal 3 has its own drop-off area.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Manchester charges drivers to use the drop-off zones. When you travel with Airport Taxi, though, airport drop-off and pick-up charges are included in your fare, so there's nothing extra to pay on the day.

Coming home: pick-up

On the way back, we track your flight, so an early or late landing is no problem. There is no waiting charge on airport collections and no extra charge if your flight is delayed. Once you've collected your luggage, give your driver a call and they'll direct you to the meeting point just outside the terminal. Alternatively, ask for a meet and greet inside arrivals when you book.

How long does it take from Redditch?

Manchester Airport is roughly 95 miles from Redditch, usually via the M6. In normal traffic, the drive takes around 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. For an early morning flight, we work back from your check-in time and build in extra time for roadworks around the M6 and M56. For example, for a 7am departure we would typically suggest leaving Redditch at around 2:30am, and we'll confirm the exact time when you book.
