Choosing the right vehicle for family airport transfers

• Mercedes E-Class estate: the same comfort with extra boot space, a good choice for a family of three or four with suitcases.
• Mercedes Vito 8-seater: up to 8 passengers with room for 8 large or up to 10 medium cases, ideal for bigger families, grandparents coming along, or two families travelling together.

Tell us about your luggage

Our booking form asks how many large cases, medium cases and cabin bags you have, and whether you are bringing golf clubs, skis, a pushchair or a wheelchair. It only takes a minute, and it means the right vehicle turns up with enough space, so nobody ends up with a suitcase on their lap.

Child seats on family airport transfers

The law on child seats is different in licensed taxis and private hire cars. The GOV.UK child car seat rules explain the details, but in short, if the right seat is not available, children can travel without one in the back, with children aged 3 and over wearing an adult seat belt. For safety and peace of mind, we recommend asking for a child seat when you book, and telling us your child's age so we can bring the right one.

Pushchairs, car seats and extra items

Pushchairs, travel cots and your own car seats all take up boot space, so please mention them when you book. Most airlines let you check in a pushchair at the gate, so it can come with you right to the plane.

Tips for a calm start to your holiday

• Pack the night before and leave the cases by the door.
• Keep passports, boarding passes and a few snacks in one easy-to-reach bag.
• Allow extra time for early summer flights, when the terminals are busiest.
• Give us your return flight number so we can track it.

Coming home
